Below are a list of resources useful across all the modules I teach. More detailed lists will, in time, become available. I tend not to teach from books favouring online resources, but for now choose one or two of the core books below and have a flick through. If they appeal to you, buy a copy. There is nothing more useless than a text book that remains in pristine condition unopened on the shelves.
USEFUL BOOKS FOR ALL MODULES
Very basic information on a whole range of digital ideas, trends and buzzwords. Needs updating. Don’t pay more than a second hand price.
Detailed book on the process of digital project management. Some useful ideas but too many unmemorable acronyms.
Very visual book to get you thinking visually. A quick read
Standard text on interaction design. Something of a classic, worth owning.
Useful overview on the Creative Industries. A term much used and much misunderstood
The contents and the reviews suggest it will be a thorough introduction to everything Multimedia.
BOOKS FOR SPECIFIC MODULES
Interaction Experience and Engagement
GENERAL CREATIVE INTEREST
This is a very useful online resource for keeping and formatting your references. You will need your university ID and pw to access it. Once you have access you can choose to download WriteNCite which allows you to drop citations into Word and format a bibliography and RefGrab which is a Firefox plugin that allows you to grab references from website and pass them through to your RefWorks database automatically. There are OS issues for Mac users which may involve you installing a legacy version of Java. Brunel University have kindly provided the information you need to get it working http://libanswers.brunel.ac.uk/faq/37161 – let me know if you are having issues with RefWorks installation

HOSTING AND DOMAINS
This is the one I use – no specific recommendations other than good price and helpful if slowish tech support. some linguistic challenges
There are many many books on WordPress at many different levels of difficulty.
I have not read this one but judging by the contents it looks useful – it is also available as a Kindle download
